Plastic is all over runway for Spring 2010

DSQUARED- is one of my favorite designers. I LOVE the camping hoodie, the shoes, the plastic shorts, tops, the bag...it's crazy and fun and it's taking everything to a whole new level.

PRADA-bags, shoes...

MICHAEL KORS-plastic pieces in dresses? I LOVE IT!

How do you guys feel about this new look? Cheap or Sheek?

FALL MUST HAVES!!!

It's been awile. I have a very new schedule which leaves me with little computer/reading time. NYC fashion week has been going on and I've been catching up on all the SS10 shows trying to see what styles are staying and going and just getting inspiration.

Here are some items/trends i think everyone...including guys...MUST HAVE in their wardrobe this winter:

LEATHER
-jacket, skirt, gloves, shoes..

STUDS-purse, jacket, shoes, dress...

PURPLE SHOES-purple shoes give the perfect pop of color to a dark outfit and they can replace black shoes to make it more interesting.

TIGHTS-::duh:: i'm really liking the hot pink ones this year and i'm far from a fan of the color. they are kinda rock n' roll paired with an all back outfit with really high heels. I also really light all the different crazy artistic designed ones, the shiney ones, and the knee & thigh high ones.

BOOTIES-the ankle boots are bigger than ever this fall and all over the runway for SS10 as well. There are so many different styles and you can find these almost anywhere.

DENIM-HUGEHUGEHUGE!!! the 90's are back! i'm a huge fan of the 90's so i'm really excited to see the grunge, edgy, i just rolled out of bed and still look great look...Denim jacket, acid wash denim, a denim dress with a black leather jacket, ripped jeans, etc.

ANIMAL PRINT-a must have for every fall for the rest of your life. so just do it.

BIG SLOUCHY SWEATER- This is just a comfortable, easy going and casual look. Hang it off one shoulder, wear it with tights, skinny jeans, wide leg jeans if you can pull it off, shorts, etc.

FLANEL- your boyfriends, your dads, whatever...open, closed with a skinny belt, layered, tied in a knot. :)

THE HOT SHOULDER- This is ALL OVER the runways. I haven't been shopping in a really long time so i have no idea if it's easy to find yet but the one shoulder dress and shirt is really really popular right now. AND it's pretty damn sexy!

That's all for now. I'll post some of my favorite looks soon.

Zooey on her style.

Some items I'm LOVIN' right now!

Peaches Geldof Lingerie Line:

She's only 20 and she is such a style icon for me. Her line is sold @ www.ultimo.co.uk The prices are affordable and the prints are really cute and flirty.

The new Jeffery Campbell Unicorn pumps!!!! GAH! <3 them so much! The price isn't that bad at all if you have a shoe fetish...$128! not bad! ;) I think they are up for pre-sale right now...

Colorful & simple sneakers! For some reason I'm loving this color this summer on everything...yet i don't have anything this color....maybe thats why. Here are some vans i'm really wanting:

This ring is $64 and normally I don't buy a single piece of jewelry for more than $20 unless it's miss B. Johnson but this is FABULOUS! and it's patricia Field and I need it in my life right away...maybe i'll ask for it for my B-day!? I really like big rings and over the top shapes and on my fingers. haha...

I should have put this up earlier b/c it's sooooo cute! It's from WWW.motelrocks.com and i love the way you can dress it up with tall heels or strappy sandals. I think it would even look great with thigh high boots and a leather jacket ;) ...if you like that look.

STUDS!!!! On shoes, jackets, vests, purses...and these tights!!!! too bad they are $175. grr...

These plaid dresses...they make me think...heidi Klum for some reason...they look so comfy and casual. Here is one from Delia's for $44.50. My bet is that you can find a similar one at ross or marshalls.

Dr. Marten's flowered boots. Maybe it's b/c i've been watching so much 90210, or b/c No Doubt it back together...or b/c the 90's grunge is sorta in right now?! either way...they come in different patters and colors and i think they are super fun!

That's all for now!

Sneak a Peek in mom's or grandma's closet!

So i stayed and house sat @ my parents for the last 10 days and I can't help but look through all my mom's things. I love to take something out of the ordinary and just put it on with some of my clothes or maybe just wear something in a very different way than the way it would normally be worn. She had some shorts that don't fit her anymore but totally fit me if I wore them a little high waisted. Needless to say...they are now mine so I'll have to let her know sometime this weekend when she gets back in town. haha. They are the type of shorts that are sorta long and wider at the bottom but nice and snug fitting around the waist. One day I wore a black pair and rolled up the bottom cuffs. Put them with this big leather gladiator type belt, a white tank, and a boyfriend blazer. maybe a new fav outfit. Another day I wore some tan shorts and kept the legs down to where they were right above my knee. Maybe an inch or so. I didn't wear a belt and paired them with a really dressy white tank that had some lace on the front. I actually 2nd guessed this outfit after I got in my car but i do that a lot. I think that's a big mistake a lot of people make about stretching the limits. Just do it if you REALLY like a certain piece! If you look like a fool to other people then that's really their problem. If you're going to say you love a jacket or some skinny jeans in a magazine but don't know what to wear them with or don't think it would look right on you...find some inspiration in magazines or a really good website like whowhatwear.com.
I don't know...for me, i feel like it's fun to be sorta out there and define yourself through what you wear. I like taking chances because styles come back and then fade so fast these days. I wake up and figure out what mood I'm in and from there...I decide what I want to put on through a feeling. I don't like to wear things that are just one type of look. I hate when people define themselves through a STORE! Like...express, or hollister for example. gah! I get a little over excited when i see someone wearing something ridiculous and mismatched in Orlando. People think just because we are surrounded by palm trees and lakes and 95 degree weather most of the time...that you have to put on flip flops and a sun dress during the summer. We don't have a big downtown with boutique's and department stores so there's definitely not a big city feel for fashion. Maybe one day!!? that would be amazing!
So instead of going shopping this weekend for something to wear out on the town. Ask your mom or grandmother if they have any clothes they want to get rid of or just don't wear anymore. Put an over sized button up shirt with a vest or skinny belt and some boots. Wear some loafers with shorts and a dressy blouse. Put thin socks on before you put on some mary janes or stiletto's. Wear a blazer over...almost anything...like an told t-shirt tucked in a tight fitting skirt. Put your hair up in a high pony tail and wear really large earrings! what else...? This fall...roll up your skinny jeans at the bottom or buy shorter ones so you can wear tall heels and let a pair of bright colored tights or socks show through a little bit! Put an old pin or broach on a jacket, t-shirt, or purse! WEAR A ROMPER! Your DAD'S work shirts as a dress. Old purses!! Put heavy eye liner only on your upper eye lid with red red lipstick! SHOULDER PADS! Cropped, off the shoulder shirts! whoohoo!
I'm done.

Some goodies & Gift Ideas.

I know I haven't posted in a while..SORRY! I don't always have time to be a nerd/bum and search the internet or shop for hours every week :) But I have found some really great things I thought were really worth posting!

Here are a couple things that don't have to do with clothes but I still think are great ideas for gifts or just for yourself.

so first i found these AWESOME photo playing cards...I love playing progressive rummie and just always having a deck of cards out when people come over to hang. These are so original and cute! They are about $30 on personalizationmall.com and all you have to do is upload your favorite photo! I think it's a kinda cool and thoughtfull gift for a poker player or something?

From velocityartanddesign.com these are around $100 but are really different and fun if you're in to the modern look. I have some lime green w/ teak wood couches so these would be crazy looking in my living room! They also come in a more bland look called "chocolate" if the colored ones are too much. They remind me of leggos and somehow they twist together in this shape. yay!

I love karen O. from the yeahyeahyeahs and i love nail polish so this was a fun find! It's called "knock out" and it goes on your nails without a shine. There are some really different colors i've never seen before but this was my fav. as well as a concrete one. oh and you can find them on koknockout.com

Last are these artistic little cards from madebygirl.com
These 2 i LOVE!!!! But there are sooo many options! They also make prints that you can hang on your wall! so creative!

So thats all for now! hope you liked this post!

What went down the runway this year for fall 2009? I checked out some runway shows on Style.com to see what some of my favorite designers are putting out next season. It's looking like lots of leather which is AWESOME!!!! lot's of asymmetrical designs, shapes/stripes, mini dresses, suits, puff sleeves/shoulders and detail!

I was pretty dissapointed in house of holland & Stella McCartney :( Also, why was pam anderson walking in the Vivienne Westwood show? ewww.

the most amazing contraption ever!!!

How coooool is this? It's a big expandable wheel that can hold up to 30 shoes depending on the type!!! I'm in love...My shoes are thrown all over the bottom of my closet right now. This would be a life saver. It would be so much easier to see the other shoe I can never find! It's $65 from http://rakkudesigns.com

BOTTOMS FOR YOUR BOTTOM!

Here are some trousers i think are so hip and classy looking from http://www.mangoshop.com/ Both around $50/$60 which really isn't a bad price at all.

I think they would look really great with either a light tucked in tank or button up collared 3/4 length shirt. Also, a little open cropped jacket would look cute if you like layers.

For a cheaper but similar look, I found these trousers @ Forever21 for $22.80

High waist shorts, skirts, and pants have been become popular over the last couple seasons and I'm happy to see they are still on this years runway! Designers like Louis Vuitton, D&G, Lanvin, and Nanette Lepore all had the high waisted look from straight, or skinny, to wide legged.

Everything Shoes!

I'm loving shoes this year! Everything is so fun and different! Here are some of my favorite designer shoes and some look-a-like versions that WE can afford! :)

Here are a pair of black gladiator ones with studs by"Ash". Obviously the gladiator look is very "in" right now but for that reason, they run more expensive than we would like. I adore these ones with the studs but they go for $230.00! However...Thanks to http://www.gojane.com/ they have pair that come in 3 different colors that looks sooo similar!
How much?! Only $16.50! Love it!

Vivienne Westwood is one of my most favorite designers...and now, she has paired with "Melissa" to make amazing plastic heels that have sort of a bubble gum feel to them. I would die to get my hands on a pair and I don't even think I would hesitate to spend the cash for them. PhotobucketSome of them have big hearts on the toe instead of the bow which I think is really cute also. They go for $150.00 on asos.com Unfortunately...they are so new and different I can't find a similar plastic heel anywhere yet :( BUT I did find these really cool turquoise sandal pumps from www.shopplasticland.com Photobucket The great thing about these are that they are vegan friendly with a good price of $42.00! whoohoo!
I don't think any rip off shoes can compare to D&G or Christian Louboutin but here are some that are stunning ones they did with the best look-a-likes I could find for less! :)Photobucket
Similar...and for $22.70 I found these @ gojane.com Photobucket
I like these Christian Louboutin wedges for summer but they are $330.00 @ neiman MarcusPhotobucketHere are some strappy wedges from yet again...gojane.com for only $16 bucks!!! PhotobucketThat's about it for now! hope this has helped!?
